Calling all cat-lovers!!!
Aug. 25th, 2006 | 06:42 pm
I'm looking for a good indoor home for two sweet fat friendly cats. They are very affectionate, and mostly like to cuddle and sleep. We really want to keep them together because they have never been separated since they were a couple of months old. They are both neutered males, with stubby tails (born that way) but they are unrelated. Sebastian is a golden/orange tabby, and Smokey is ... you guessed it gray (silver - what ever). They are about 6 years old, in good healthy with all their shots. Smokey likes to go outside sometimes, but won't go more than a couple of yards from the house, and Sebastian has no desire to leave the air conditioning. My sister has raised them but is not unable to keep them with her current living situation, and I am way too allergic to live with a cat. If we can't find some one soon we may have to give them to a shelter. We have a couple of weeks to make arrangements, so contact me if you are interested. If you want pictures I can get them.

A General Observation

Something I have noticed lately - too often we (this is that all encompassing collective "we") let outside influences effect our happiness, people, incidents, work etc.
Yes, I know that shit piles up, you have crappy days, you get sick, have a flat, you're poor and so you're broke all the fucking time. So fucking what? I guess I have come to the point in my life where I realize that it could always be worse and I would rather have a good time than sit and stew about bullshit. I am not a super optimistic person, actually I tend towards pessimistic, but I get tired of being bummed out all the time. I am making a concentrated effort to not let myself get dragged down by the stuff going on around me. I'm not saying you should just sit back and let bad shit happen, certainly you should stand up for your beliefs.
What I am talking about is things like when someone doesn't show up when they say they will. Yeah that sucks, yeah you might be worried about their well being, but why waste the effort and emotion to get pissed off or depressed? Fuck it, fuck them, why not just blow it off and have a good time? Or when something doesn't go the why you imagined it would. Last night I went out to a St. Patrick's Day Celebration and the musicians where having a hell of a time with the sound equipment. They kept losing the vocal mikes and getting horrible feed back. Yeah that was disappointing. I'd hoped for a great show, dancing, singing, and general revelry. It wasn't a great night, but it wasn't bad (for me at least) because I didn't want to let it get to me. I figure its all how you look at it, if you want to have a good time, you will.
Anyways so that's my spiel for today ........

This is something I have been passionately opposed to all of my life!!!
This is about california legislation being passed to exterminate pit bulls. If it passes in california, it is on it's way across the US...
someone has to try to make a difference... what if it were your pet?? It would be great if the web could be used for something good other than getting dates or posting surveys? Please pass the word along and post this so as many people can see this as possible.
This has to be stopped. Let's take it a step further now!
Here is just some of the many sites you can find online regarding this matter.
A great article on how pit bulls are not inherintly dangerous.
A pit bulls in truth - a support blog.
The AKC stance on BSL
And most importantly -
A online petition to 'Protect Property Rights In Animals'.
Please repost this into you blog. The dogs are worth it!!!!

I've been tagged by
- I carry a rock in my pocket (if I have pockets) it makes feel safe & whole for some reason. I can hold it and it fits perfectly in my fist.
- I make wish when I find a fallen eyelash on my cheek, because it reminds me of my childhood and the simple innocent naivety I had back then. (I’m teaching my sons to do the same.)
- I say flustrate for frustrate, I know its incorrect but it’s a persistent habit I’m not sure I care if I ever break, it is sort of a mix between flustered and frustrate, I think I picked it up as a child from my grandma.
- I purposefully drive on the outer lane of the road when & after it rains, so I can splash in puddles.
- I go every Wednesday night to this strange place where words meet and mingle, drunks seem to linger and a pen is always to be found.
So here’s to memeing, your turn
derelictmind,
cixelsyduera,
kalidaemon,
starbritepixie &
alien_u2. I would have tagged more because I'm evil like that but, 1) its aginst the rules :( and 2 some one else beat me to it,(specfically
jeneralization).

I know, it's sad (go ahead, taunt me all you want Buffy Boy) but I have this strange obsession with this show. Otherwise, I pretty much hate TV.
Great .... I get to be the 1st major character to go!
| Boone You scored 48% kindness, 63% courage, 34% seedy past, and 25% secretiveness! |
"I know you made a promise. I'm letting you off the hook. Let me go, Jack." You are Boone. You are kind and brave, with a slightly less checkered past than your fellow survivors. You are an open book, and do not keep secrets from anyone. While your humanitarian efforts are chivalrous, being so trusting and helpful can get you into major trouble...especially when you spend your days hanging around John Locke. Stay away from the manipulative types and you should be winning a Nobel Peace Prize in no time. Your polar opposite is: Danielle. You are similar to: Jack and Claire. |

He replied "I be mean to myself, because that make me an artist"
No I am not kidding, he actually said that!

I was watching a little new before going to bed this morning (yes i'm a night owl) when I caught this short blurb on channel 11. Body found in field near Meador Elementary School. Thats literally 1-2 blocks from my grandmother's house. They went on to briefly describe the body, but I was in a daze after realizing where it was. All I know it was a man, and he was wearing those funky tennis shoes w/ the silly spring heels.
Now I know that stuff happens everywhere, but this is too freaking close to my grandmas!! I grew up there, when to school there, roamed around in the middle of the night regularly there. I probably walked by that very spot a hundreds times. I think it was the one behind the school near the ghetto apartments. Her whole neighborhood has gotten pretty bad in the last 10 years, but I thought it had started improving recently.
They really didn't say anything more, that I caught, about who did it or why or who it was. I didn't even catch the age,or race of the victim, or how long he had been dead or how he died.
I know I am freaking out a bit, but damn, she lives alone, and that's just scary.
Here I finally found one article at Houston Chronicle. It doesn't say much more, except that the body had been there a few days, and was probably due to gun shots.

If you see any others, let me know.
